Her husband, a devoted Philadelphia fan, has denied her affection

NFL insider Dianna Russini has learned the hard way that talking about the Philadelphia Eagles can have consequences, not only online but at home as well. Making comments or posts about the team and their now notorious “tush push” play has sparked friction with her husband, a devoted Eagles supporter who, according to Russini, no longer looks at her the same way.

Russini joked that her husband’s loyalty to Philadelphia has created unexpected tension in their marriage. During recent weeks, as the Eagles have faced mounting criticism over both their performance and their repetitive offensive tactics, the subject has become especially touchy in their household.

The “controversial” Dianna Russini tweet
The situation began when Russini posted a comment on social media suggesting that the Eagles’ polarizing “tush push” play should be banned. The post quickly drew backlash from fans of the team, who saw it as an attack on their identity. The reaction wasn’t limited to strangers online, her own husband, a lifelong Eagles fan, was among those offended.

Russini deleted the tweet shortly afterward, but the damage had already been done. The incident spilled over into her personal life, prompting lighthearted jokes from both fans and colleagues about how her criticism might have affected her marriage.

On Friday, October 17, during her appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Russini addressed the topic with humor. One of the hosts asked her directly if her husband had been withholding intimacy as punishment for her remarks about his beloved Eagles. Her response was as candid as it was funny:

It’s funny you say that, it’s actually happening right now… That is so the truth is, like, Kevin has lost attraction to me since I put out the tweet, yes, like, I think he thought I was cute at one point. I can just tell by the way he passes me in the house. He’s like, ‘You’re disgusting.’

A “tush push” overload that exhausted viewers

During last week’s Thursday Night Football matchup against the New York Giants, the Eagles ran their trademark “tush push” four consecutive times, first to convert a first and goal, and then for a touchdown. The repetitive use of the play drew frustration from many viewers, who felt Philadelphia was leaning on it excessively.

Replays also appeared to show false start penalties that officials failed to call, fueling the criticism further. Despite the effort, the strategy did little to help the Eagles secure a win. They ultimately fell to the Giants, led by quarterback Jaxson Dart.

What started as a simple football opinion has turned into an amusing but genuine domestic standoff. For Russini, it’s clear that when football loyalties run this deep, even love can be benched, at least until the next game.
