Sixteen years ago, Taylor Swift tweeted at her best friend Selena Gomez, “Real love still happens sometimes. It’s not just something we make up when we’re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.” Yesterday, the “So High School” singer watched Gomez walk down the aisle and get her fairytale happy ending with Benny Blanco.

Real love does still happen sometimes, and both pop stars are proof of that, as Gomez tied the knot with her Golden Retriever hubby in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, with Swift (who is engaged to her googly-eyed beau Travis Kelce) in the crowd.

To make the occasion all the more special, Swift gave a love-filled speech during the reception, according to a source that spoke with People. Ed Sheeran, Gomez’s mom Mandy Teefey, Gomez’s stepfather Brian Teefey, and Blanco’s Parents, Sandra and Andrew Levin, also delivered remarks.  “At the reception, everyone was letting loose and celebrating them well into the night. The vibe was so much fun,” the insider said. “They were glowing all night, and both Selena and Benny couldn’t stop smiling. There was so much love in the room.”

Swift rode solo, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was noticeably missing from the audience, likely because he has a football game today at Arrowhead Stadium back in Missouri. Kelce was undoubtedly on the mind though, as the couple is, of course, in their engagement era. Kelce romantically popped the question to his true love back in August.

Swift was seen arriving at Santa Barbara airport on Friday. She kept a discreet profile, hiding under black umbrellas and getting into a black SUV, as seen in photos published by Page Six. Swift attended Gomez and Blanco’s rehearsal dinner at a private, upscale estate the same night, though she is believed to be staying at a private rental home instead of a hotel for security reasons.

The woman of the hour was an absolute vision in white, looking angelic in a Ralph Lauren masterpiece that featured a halter neckline, low back, and full skirt. Blanco looked at Gomez with admiration, clad in a classic black tuxedo, as seen in photos shared to both of their Instagrams.  The star-studded nuptials were also attended by Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building costars Steve Martin and Martin Short, as well as Paul Rudd and Paris Hilton, among others.

This is truly a full circle moment for Gomez and Swift, who first became besties almost 20 years ago. The pair met in 2008, when Swift was dating Joe Jonas and Gomez was dating Nick Jonas. They grew even closer after their breakups, with Gomez even telling Jake Shane in August, “She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet.”  “(We) bonded over the breakup, as girls do,” Gomez added. “And then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after, and here we are now, 16 years later.”

There have been quite a few ups in the past few months, starting with Gomez’s engagement: Blanco asked for his lady’s hand during a romantic Taco Bell picnic, fashioning her hand with an 8-carat marquise diamond. Swift celebrated her pal with a cheeky comment, writing, “yes I will be the flower girl.” The superstars showed off their adorable friendship again in July, when Swift attended Gomez’s lavish, disco-themed 33rd birthday party. Next up is Swift’s wedding, which is speculated to happen in the next six months.
