Lamar Jackson aims to end Patrick Mahomes: Harrison Butker’s field goal brings the Chiefs…

The Baltimore Ravens haven’t forgotten last year’s bitter loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The controversial ending left a sour taste in Lamar Jackson & Co.’s mouths–one they hope to wash away with a statement win this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season.

Games between the Chiefs and Ravens are often decided in the final moments, and last year’s season opener was no exception. The two teams battled fiercely, with Kansas City holding a narrow 27-20 lead in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

With seconds remaining, Jackson connected with tight end Isaiah Likely in the end zone. But while the Ravens were still deciding between a game-tying extra point or a go-for-broke two-point conversion, instant replay overturned the touchdown–handing the Chiefs the win.

Baltimore is ready to rewrite the script
Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City have dominated the rivalry, winning six of the last seven meetings–including a 17-10 victory in the 2023 AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs have also won their last three games at Arrowhead Stadium.

As usual, this matchup looks evenly matched. Both teams enter Week 4 with 1-2 records. The Chiefs notched their first win of the season last week against the Giants, while the Ravens’ lone victory came in Week 2 against the Browns.

Win or watch the playoffs slip away
Only one team in NFL history has won a Super Bowl after starting 1-3: the 2001 New England Patriots, in Tom Brady’s rookie season. If Baltimore or Kansas City wants to keep their championship dreams alive, the time to win is now.

The Chiefs currently sit at the bottom of the AFC West, trailing the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers (3-0). Meanwhile, the Ravens are third in the AFC North, chasing the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1).
