The Kansas City Chiefs bounced back from a rough season start with a decisive 22-9 win over the New York Giants in Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season. Patrick Mahomes, the three-time Super Bowl champion, tried to share the joy with a young fan in the stands-but the heartwarming gesture took a sour turn.
Despite the final score, the game was no cakewalk. The Chiefs led just 9-6 at halftime, thanks to three field goals by Harrison Butker. Mahomes and the offense found their rhythm in the second half, but it was the defense that ultimately sealed the win.
After the final whistle, Mahomes approached the stands to gift a child his thermal throwing sleeve-used to keep his arm warm in cold climates like New York’s. That’s when the drama began.
A classless act by a Giants fan
In a moment reminiscent of the infamous “Phillies Karen” incident earlier this month, a Giants fan snatched the sleeve right out of the boy’s hands. The child, decked out in Chiefs gear, protested-but to no avail.
A short video clip of the incident has gone viral. It shows the boy exclaiming, “You stole that from me!” as a hand-belonging to someone in Giants colors-rips the sleeve away.
Following the Citizens Bank Park debacle, online users have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior. And they didn’t hold back.

The video has sparked angry reactions from fans. “That’s straight clown behavior, stealing from a kid,” one lashed out. “Typical behavior from that type,” another chimed in. “That’s awful,” another said, and yet another was clear in saying, “Wow, what a loser move.”
Although the thief’s face isn’t visible in the clip, fans are determined to make him infamous. One thing is clear: the internet is done tolerating this kind of abuse-even if justice comes via social media.
