The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles took down the visiting Los Angeles Rams in a thrilling 33-26 victory at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, as the team improved to 3-0.

While the end result was great for Philadelphia fans, things weren’t always pretty in Week 3.

The Eagles trailed 26-7 in the third quarter and the offense looked completely stagnant for the majority of the contest. These offensive struggles even resulted in a chorus of boos from Eagles fans.

Led by first-year coordinator Kevin Patullo, the Eagles finally turned things on late in the second half. Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw three touchdown passes as Philly mounted a furious comeback.

The game ended with a blocked field goal attempt by Eagles defensive lineman Jordan Davis, who returned the ball for a game-sealing touchdown.  After the win, running back Saquon Barkley addressed the early boos from the Philadelphia crowd.

“That’s part of playing in Philly,” Barkley said. “The beauty of it, when we got things going, just as loud as they boo you, they got your back too.”

Philadelphia’s offense has employed a conservative play-calling style through the first three games of the season. After Sunday’s Week 3 win, Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown said he hopes the team gets more aggressive moving forward.

“Me, personally, I truly believe, man, we got so many good players on this team, and at times you can feel like we’re being conservative and I don’t think it should be like that,” Brown said, via team beat writer Jeff McLane. “I think it should [be] let your killers do [their] thing, and play fast and play aggressive.

“I’m not saying that we haven’t been, but for me, personally, that’s what I would like. Obviously, we’re gonna run the ball and we’re gonna set up the run off the pass and the pass off the run. But we have a lot of good players, and I feel like you should just let us go. It shouldn’t be like that.”  The Eagles will play the 3-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a clash of unbeaten teams next Sunday.
