Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes Celebrate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Engagement

After Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement Aug. 26, Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany Mahomes shared their sweet reactions.

Travis Kelce knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said ‘Marry me, Taylor Swift!’  And ever since “The Life of a Showgirl” singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared the exciting development in their two-year romance, their couple friends Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes were naturally floored by the milestone.

For one, Travis’ Chiefs teammate dropped several red heart emojis after sharing the post to his own Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, Brittany—mom to Sterling, 4, Bronze, 2, and Golden, 7 months—couldn’t think of a happier occasion.  “Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love,” Brittany gushed on her own Instagram Story. “Just so happy for these two.”

Taylor and Travis shared the news to Instagram Aug. 26, naturally soundtracked to her The Tortured Poets Department track “So High School,” which is rumored to be about her romance with the football player.

Naturally, the “Karma” singer paid another nod to their high school romance, joking alongside a stick of dynamite emoji, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

In a collection of photos from the special moment, the couple are surrounded by a garden adorned with pink, white and red roses. Another slide shows off Taylor’s Old Mine Brilliant Cut ring, designed by Kindred Lubeck.

The latest installment of Taylor and Travis’ love story has been a long time coming. After all, Taylor has said in more ways than one that no one has ever had her quite like the NFL star.

“This podcast has done a lot for me, I owe a lot to this podcast,” Taylor joked during her Aug. 13 appearance on New Heights. “Ever since Travis tried to use it as his personal dating app.”

Despite the jokes, Taylor admitted that she felt instantly smitten recalling their earliest days.  “He’s truly trying to get to know me in a way that’s very natural,” she shared. “Very natural, very pure, very normal. The way he could make me laugh so immediately about normal things—he’s a vibe booster in everyone’s life. He’s a human exclamation point.”
