It’s a love story: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are tying the knot

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Just over two years after their relationship went public, Kansas City’s most high-profile couple is engaged.

According to an Instagram post from both their accounts, pop star Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, or “your English teacher and your gym teacher,” are getting married.

Their relationship came to be sometime in the last half of 2023 after Swift’s Eras Tour had two shows in Kansas City in July and Kelce tried—and failed—to meet her in person.

Their relationship went public in September 2023 when Swift attended her first Chiefs game. She quickly quelled any criticism that she would “hard launch” their relationship and confirmed that she and Kelce started hanging out months prior.

“I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” she said at the time.

The relationship “started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift said. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
