The Los Angeles Dodgers are still a couple days away from the official start of 2025 spring training on Feb. 11, but Shohei Ohtani is already present for offseason workouts at Camelback Ranch in Arizona. The two-way superstar, who hasn’t pitched since suffering a UCL tear with the Angels in August 2023, was spotted last week as he attempts to make his way back to the mound this season.
Ohtani’s wife Mamiko Tanaka was also spotted on Sunday while accompanying the 2024 league MVP and their dog Decoy at the Dodgers’ facilities. The photos marked the first public appearance by Tanaka, 27, since the couple announced on Dec. 28 that they were expecting their first child. “The Ohtani’s spending quality time. Mamiko is one pretty pregnant lady 💙💙💙🦄,” one X post was captioned.

Ohtani announced in February 2024 that he was married, though it remains unclear when the couple actually tied the knot. In fact, Tanaka’s identity wasn’t known until a photo posted by Ohtani went viral in March 2024.

Ohtani and the Dodgers will open the 2025 season in the Tokyo Series for the second consecutive season. This year’s matchup with the Chicago Cubs will span two games on March 18-19.
