Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl LIX champions following a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in New Orleans. The victory comes two seasons after the Eagles suffered a heartbreaking 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. Following that loss, Hurts’ screensaver on his phone was a photo of him walking off the field with Kansas City celebrating the Super Bowl victory.
Now that Hurts has led his team to the top of the mountain, he has a chance to change his screensaver to the Eagles’ Super Bowl win. Hurts was asked about his screensaver after Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles quarterback joked that whichever one of his teammates leaked the photo of his screensaver should be fined.
“When I think about that, that wasn’t even supposed to be posted,” Hurts said, per ESPN. “I told them, I’m going to start fining they [expletive]. They had their phones out in a team meeting.”
After Hurts joked about a potential fine for his teammates, since the photo of his screensaver was posted on social media, some fans shared their hilarious reactions. “I swore they asked him this like 4 times i would respond like that too,” said one fan with a laughing emoji.
“Jalen gotta laugh sometimes like bro it’s OKAY,” said another fan with laughing emojis.
“He talking about no phones out like his wasn’t out,” mentioned one fan with laughing emojis. “He’s tired of that question,” commented one fan with a laughing emoji. “But ya phone was out,” said one fan. “Bro gonna make them put phones in a box,” said another fan.
Hurts finished Sunday’s game 17-of-22 passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. He was also Philadelphia’s leading rusher with 72 yards and a touchdown. Following his incredible performance, Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP, the 22nd different quarterback to win the award.
