The Philadelphia Eagles left no doubt about which team was better between them and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. On Sunday, the Eagles delivered an incredible performance to stop the Chiefs’ NFL reign, winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy after a 40-22 victory at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Jalen Hurts won the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award but the Eagles’ win was way more than just about the quarterback’s play. Among those who put up a big performance for Philly was linebacker Zack Baun, who had seven total tackles, a quarterback hit, a pass defended and, of course, an interception off a a pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Baun’s wife, Ali Baun, captured the moment her husband intercepted Mahomes in the second quarter of the contest, later posting that defensive play on social media with a caption that read: “deceased.”

Zack’s interception at the Chiefs’ 14-yard line did not just take away a possession from Kansas City. It also helped set up the eventual touchdown catch by Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown that gave Philadelphia a 24-point lead. It was quite a 2024 NFL season for Zack, who made the most out of the one-year deal worth $1.6 million that he signed with the Eagles in March of 2024.
Worth noting as well is the fact that Zack played his four first seasons in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints before winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles at his old stomping grounds. In his first campaign with the Eagles, the 28-year-old former Wisconsin Badgers star earned a Pro Bowl nod while recording 5.5 sacks and two interceptions during the 2024 regular season.
