Saquon Barkley has received praise all season, capping off his incredible campaign by winning the AP Offensive Player of the Year at the NFL Honors. His arrival in Philadelphia has transformed the Eagles, making them a force in the NFC once again. But despite all the accolades and success, nothing means more to him than the love and support of his family.
Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, The Players’ Tribune shared a heartwarming voicemail left by Barkley’s six-year-old daughter, Jada. In the message, she expressed excitement for her father’s biggest game and delivered a touching reminder of what truly matters. “Hi daddy, it’s Jada! I’m so excited for your big game! Yeah! (Laughs) I really, really, really hope you win. And daddy really, I’m really thankful that you’ve been caring for your whole family and I know you’re going to win.”
“Our whole family would always love you no matter what you do.”

The Eagles enter the matchup as underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs, who are seeking their third straight Super Bowl title. But Jada made sure her father knew that, regardless of the outcome, his family’s love for him will never change. “Even if you lose, that is okay because I will always, always love you. SJ will always love you, and mommy will always love you, and your mother and father would always love you. Our whole family will always love you, no matter what you do. I love you so much daddy for taking care of me, and SJ, and mommy. Big blessings. I love you daddy, bye!”
Barkley’s Journey from Penn State to Super Bowl Contender
Barkley met his fiancee, Anna Congdon, while they were both attending Penn State. The couple began dating in 2017, and a year later, they welcomed their first child, Jada. In 2022, their family grew with the birth of Saquon Jr., named after his father.
Regarded as one of the NFL’s most respected and humble stars, Barkley appears to be passing those same values on to his children. The voicemail struck an emotional chord with fans, many of whom believe the heartfelt message could give Barkley extra motivation to deliver a historic performance in the Super Bowl.
Chasing History on the NFL’s Biggest Stage
This season, Barkley cemented himself as one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. He became just the ninth player ever to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season, finishing with 2,005 yards, the eighth-most all-time. Remarkably, he achieved this feat despite sitting out the final game of the regular season.
His dominance has continued in the postseason, with rushing performances of 119 yards, 205 yards, and 118 yards leading into the Super Bowl. Now, he stands on the verge of breaking multiple records:
1.He needs just 30 yards to surpass Terrell Davis’ single-season rushing record (regular season + playoffs) of 2,476 yards.
2.If he rushes for 169 yards in the Super Bowl, he will break John Riggins’ 42-year-old playoff rushing record of 610 yards from 1982.
Barkley is only the second player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards and reach the Super Bowl in the same season. A win on Sunday would further cement his legacy as one of the all-time greats.
With history on the line and the unwavering support of his family behind him, Barkley will look to deliver one of the most memorable performances in Super Bowl history. Whether or not he lifts the Vince Lombardi Trophy, one thing is certain-he has already won in the eyes of his biggest supporter, Jada.
