Despite being just 22 years old, Angel Reese has seemingly been in the national spotlight for a very long time. Thanks to an outstanding college basketball career, Reese rose to fame while at LSU and has translated it into success at the next level in the WNBA. In her first season with the Chicago Sky, she made the All-Star Game and finished second only to Caitlin Clark in Rookie of the Year voting.
Reese has used the platform basketball has given her to build her brand off the court. Her social media following speaks for itself, but Reese has also been hard at work creating content for her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel”. On that show, Reese talks about everything basketball and non-basketball, including her love life, which fans always want to know about. On a recent episode, Reese nearly slipped up and pulled down her sometimes cold exterior while interviewing college basketball player Mikey Williams. She even went so far as to ask if he was single.
Who is Mikey Williams, Angel Reese’s podcast guest?
Those who follow high school and college basketball know all about Williams and his history. The San Diego native was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and committed to play for notorious head coach Penny Hardaway at Memphis.
Williams never made an appearance for the Tigers, as he went through a criminal investigation for charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Ultimately, Williams pled guilty to one charge and his penalty was reduced to volunteer work. Williams then transferred to UCF in January of this year. 2024-25 will be Williams’ first season with the Knights, and he comes in with high expectations given his high school resume.
