A shocking video showing a man deliver a brutal tackle on a woman has stunned the internet, reigniting the debate surrounding men competing against women in sports.  The 12-second clip, which was shared to X by account ‘Football’s Greatest Moments’ and has already amassed 7.4 million views in five days, showed the bikini-clad woman and the man perform the renowned Oklahoma football drill – with a brutal ending for the woman.

The pair lay in the sand, yards apart from each other. After hearing a go signal, they jump up and sprint towards each other, as football players do.  While plenty expected a gentleman’s approach, the man lowered his shoulder, ran full force, and knocked his counterpart down to the sand in a brutal collision.

The beach-side spectators were left stunned by the man’s violent approach with their outraged shock now echoed by social media users.  Many used the brutal video as a fresh argument against biological males competing against women in sports.

‘This is one reason why men shouldn’t be in women’s sports,’ one social media user posted on X, replying to the clip, which was originally first posted six years ago.   ‘If he were trans, Dems would be saying, ‘that is totally fair,” another argued, referencing the current political divide in the US surrounding trans athletes’ participation in sports.  ‘Well… she’ll never test her physical ability over a man again,’ a third claimed.

Men and women competing against one another has been the source of great debate in recent years.  A gender row broke out at the Olympics in summer over Algerian boxer Imane Khelif.  Khelif won gold in the women’s welterweight event in Paris this summer, but her participation at the games had been a source of contention.

This came after the Algerian was disqualified from the Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2023 by the International Boxing Associations (IBA) in regards to gender eligibility rules, with the body claiming that she failed a gender eligibility test.  However, Khelif insisted she was a woman and her father even produced her birth certificate which said she was born female.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) repeatedly defended her right to compete throughout the games, while the IBA’s test results and credibility were also called into question.  Most recently in the US, women’s college volleyball has been rocked by controversy surrounding trans player Blaire Fleming.

San Jose State University women’s volleyball team has had multiple games in the Division-1 Mountain West Conference forfeited by other schools due to safety concerns over playing against Fleming, who is biologically male.  Meanwhile, other social media users were left shocked at the resurfaced video of the man’s takedown of the woman on the beach.

‘Yep. She is in the hospital,’ one user wrote.  ‘He broke her collarbone for sure,’ another added.  A third user claimed he ‘Did this with a friend back in the day. We both dislocated our shoulders. Good times.’  Meanwhile, a fifth commented, ‘Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.’

The woman appeared eager in the beginning as she yelled, ‘Okay, for real. Go!’  Another spectator is also heard instructing her to ‘Get right with his a**.’  That quickly backfired as she ended up on the losing side of the collision. One of the spectators quickly consoled her as the tackler appeared to have no remorse.

As the man walks off the frame, the woman sits up before the clip concludes.  The woman in question appears to be the X user @alexiaokayy_ – who reposted the clip on her account a few days ago.  She captioned the footage: ‘YEARS AGO AND STILL AINT PUT NO RESPECT ON ME’ with several crying-with-laughter emojis.

She also responded to the post by ‘Football’s Greatest Moments’ by saying: ‘yall can follow me at least for my pains and struggles.’  Despite her reference to getting hurt from the viral clip, it is unclear exactly what injuries she got from getting hit so hard.
