The one truth about Travis Kelce is that he always seems to be open. As a central cog in head coach Andy Reid’s envelope-pushing offense, Kelce has established himself not only as a Kansas City Chiefs legend but one of the finest tight ends in the history of the NFL.
The 35-year-old Kelce started 2024 slowly, and fearful speculation wondered if Father Time was finally catching up to the three-time Super Bowl champion. But wonder no more — in recent weeks, as the Chiefs continue to win and girlfriend Taylor Swift continues to support him, Kelce has rediscovered his best form. On Sunday, he punctuated that return to form by etching his name even further into Chiefs lore.
Kelce ties a touchdown record
When he caught a two-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes on Sunday, Kelce did more than just convert a huge fourth-and-goal opportunity, more than just bring the Chiefs closer to the rival Denver Broncos.

In curling back toward the ball and snagging his 76th career touchdown reception, Kelce tied Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdowns by any receiver in Chiefs franchise history. Kelce, a four-time All-Pro who has been selected to nine successive Pro Bowl games, will stand alone with one more score — though he has 41 touchdowns to go to surpass Antonio Gates for the most touchdowns by a tight end in NFL history.
With that TD reception, TE Travis Kelce now has 76 career touchdown catches, tying PFHOF TE Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdown receptions in franchise history. It’s his 2nd TD catch of the season.

Kelce’s second-quarter touchdown grab meant Swift, at her 18th Chiefs game, got to see more history from her boyfriend and his team. Swift saw Kansas City win both the AFC championship and the Super Bowl last season. With her globe-spanning, 149-show Eras Tour coming to an end in less than a month’s time, the “Cardigan” singer will be ready for the Chiefs’ postseason run, which the franchise hopes will end in New Orleans with a first-ever Super Bowl three-peat.
