I hate to say it, but I’ll always keep it real with you guys. I don’t think the Chiefs are making the playoffs this year.
On NFL.com’s odds, KC had a 52% chance to make the playoffs before yesterday. With a win, that would have gone up to 61%. It dropped to 35%.
I know Jim Nantz and Tony Romo kept saying all they have to do is “win out.” That requires a 5-game winning streak AND you face 2 great defenses in Houston and Denver.
It’s not over, but the Chiefs are required to win 5 in a row and get help from teams to beat the Chargers and Texans, and possibly the Steelers.
The Chargers and Steelers each have a tough schedule coming up. The Texans schedule is fairly easy.
The margin for error was already small for the Chiefs going into Week 11 and they’ve gone 1-2 since then. I just think there’s too much inconsistency with this team to pull off 5 straight wins.
