Marshawn Kneeland’s pregnant girlfriend makes heartbreaking plea as she thanks fans for prayers after his death aged 24

MARSHAWN Kneeland’s girlfriend Catalina Mancera has issued a plea for “memories” from heartbroken fans.

The Dallas Cowboys star died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound earlier this month.  Kneeland told his family goodbye while suffering an “apparent medical episode,” according to TMZ.

An official cause of death has not been released but will be determined by the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office.  The 24-year-old was honored by the Cowboys in their NFL match-up with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night.

Last week, Catalina revealed she was pregnant with Kneeland’s baby.  She took to social media on Saturday to issue a plea to fans for “photos and memories”.

“Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the love, prayers, and messages that have been sent my way,” she wrote.

“Your support has meant more to me than I can put into words during such a painful time.  “As I continue honoring Marshawn’s memory, I’m trying to gather as many photos and memories of him as possible.

“If you have any pictures of Marshawn whether they’re recent, old, funny, or meaningful.  “I would truly appreciate it if you could share them with me.

“Every photo helps me hold onto a piece of him and the beautiful impact he had on all of us. “Thank you again for your kindness, your prayers, and for keeping my sweet baby in your hearts,” she wrote.  “It brings me comfort knowing how deeply he was loved.”

Kneeland was the 56th overall pick by the Cowboys in the 2024 NFL Draft.  He appeared in 11 games across his rookie campaign, racking up 14 total tackles.

Kneeland scored his only NFL touchdown after recovering a blocked punt in the end zone against the Arizona Cardinals, just two days before his death.

On the Cowboys’ website, the team wrote that players woke up “to the worst news imaginable.”  “It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning,” the written statement said.

“Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization.  “Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”  “It brings me comfort knowing how deeply he was loved” 🥹
