Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown isn’t having the season he imagined as he on pace for the worst statistical season of his career.  The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver let the world know he’s frustrated with his season when he suggested the Eagles offense was a “[expletive]-show” and hinted fantasy managers should drop him moving forward. Just hours after he made those comments on a live stream, Brown spoke with reporters and admitted where his frustration comes from.

“It’s not just solely about my situation. I want to win, too,” he said. “I think if we’re really focused on winning and doing our job, we can’t just keep slapping a Band-Aid over the defense doing their job and getting us out of trouble. At what point are we going to pick up our slack as an offense?  “That’s what I’m getting at. It’s not about, ‘I don’t care about winning, all I care about is stats.’ No. It’s been week after week sometimes we’re not doing our job on offense. You can’t keep slapping a Band-Aid over that and expect to win late in the year and think you’re going to go to that at the end of the year. It’s not going to [expletive] happen.”

Not long later, reporters asked Hurts about the criticism coming from Brown.  “I know you got to ask those questions, and I got a lot of respect for that,” Hurts said in the media session. “My focus always goes back to what the group is doing and what the collective is. Obviously, A.J. (Brown) plays a pivotal role in what we’ve been and what we’ve done, and we have to continue to grow with that every day.”

“I know he’s talked about having a growth mindset and embracing that, so we need to have that mentality as we go through this season to go to where we want to go. We’ve got the Detroit Lions, so I’m going to definitely put a halt to that. I think the more we drive that, the more of a distraction it becomes and I think ultimately it’s about the group.”  The Eagles will be tested this weekend as they face off against the Detroit Lions.
