Blue Jays humble Shohei Ohtani’s Dodgers as World Series drama in Game 4
Under the pastel sunset of Los Angeles, Dodger Stadium looked like a movie set. The stars were out both on the field and in the stands, and Shohei Ohtani was supposed to be the main attraction.
His long-awaited World Series pitching debut began with thunderous cheers that echoed across Chavez Ravine. It ended in silence that felt even louder.
For the fourth straight night, the Dodgers scored first. Kiké Hernández lifted a sacrifice fly in the second inning, and the crowd erupted with belief that another Hollywood script was unfolding. But belief has a short lifespan in October. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. made sure of that.
The Blue Jays’ powerhouse, already the emotional center of this postseason, flipped the game in the third inning. Ohtani fired a fastball over the heart of the plate, and Guerrero Jr. punished it. The two-run shot soared into the left-field night and left the stadium gasping. From that moment, Toronto controlled the stage.

Bieber brings calm as Ohtani fades under the lights
Shane Bieber, the 2020 American League Cy Young winner, gave the Blue Jays exactly what they needed: poise. His fastball was sharp, his command was steady, and his timing was perfect. In five and a third innings, he allowed just one run on four hits, walked three, and struck out three. It was a masterclass in control rather than power.

By the seventh inning, Ohtani’s rhythm began to break. The fatigue from Monday’s marathon game started to show. A pair of leadoff singles opened the door for Toronto, and once the Dodgers’ bullpen entered, the floodgates followed. Anthony Banda and Blake Treinen could not stop the momentum. Four runs crossed the plate, turning a tight contest into a decisive statement.

Ohtani finished with six innings pitched, six hits, four runs, and six strikeouts. On most nights that might have been enough. But Toronto’s confidence and precision left no room for mistakes.

The stadium was packed with Hollywood names like Brad Pitt, LeBron James, Tobey Maguire, and Meghan Markle, yet the real performance belonged to the visiting team. The Blue Jays took the script and rewrote it in royal blue ink.

Toronto’s 6-2 victory tied the World Series at two games apiece and guaranteed that the championship will continue in Canada this weekend. The Dodgers must now regroup quickly because the momentum has clearly shifted north.
