Security eventually intervened after blows were exchanged on the upper deck at Northwest Stadium
Chicago trailed 24-16 in the fourth quarter before late drama at Northwest Stadium.
Jake Moody sent over a final second field goal to clinch the Bears third consecutive win.
But tempers frayed in the stands as a stuttering Washington dropped to 3-3 on the season.
Footage circulated on social media showed a chaotic fight breaking out among fans on the top deck. Commanders fan Kiara Shanae caught the melee on camera, per the Daily Mail.
Several fans are seen trading punches in the clip, before one falls down a number of seats. No security are initially in sight with two separate punch-ups going on.
One fan had his shirt ripped off in the chaos but continued to reign in with blows. Security guards eventually arrived to break up the rumble, which summed up a disastrous night for the Commanders.
“Imagine paying money to sit in an arena and observe this,” wrote one fan on X in response to the footage. “Absolutely disgusting. Real tough guys right there,” said another. “Who would want to go to a game there?” asked a third.
Washington committed three turnovers, matching their total from the first five games. And in victory, the Bears avenged a dramatic Hail Mary defeat to the Commanders last season.
Home coach Dan Quinn admitted his team struggled to cope with the Bears relentless running game. D’Andre Swift trampled all over the Commanders defensive line for 108 yards on 14 carries, as well as a score through the air.
“It sucks,” a disgruntled Quinn told reporters after the game. “You have to embrace [the pain] knowing what to learn from it.
“You don’t carry it into the days ahead. It’s the kind of loss that p*sses you off. “Those can have some real meaning if you lean into it. Trust me we’ll be leaning into it.”
