After the Kansas City Chiefs’ decisive 30–17 win over the Detroit Lions, Brittany Mahomes took to social media to support her husband’s exceptional performance while also sending a personal gesture to Erin Andrews. The FOX Sports host recently decided she wouldn’t be returning to covering MLB, and issued an awkward apology to Baker Mayfield.

Patrick Mahomes put on a commanding display: completing 22-of-30 passes for 257 yards, throwing three touchdowns, and rushing for a 32-yard score. With this performance, the Chiefs ended Detroit’s four-game winning streak and balanced their own record at 3–3.

In a stark contrast to their previous game, the Chiefs managed to avoid penalties entirely. After being penalized 13 times in their Week 5 loss, Kansas City played a disciplined game, with Mahomes and Travis Kelce expressing their frustrations about the Week 4 penalties.  Detroit responded through Jared Goff, who passed for 203 yards and two touchdowns, while Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta also scored.

However, the narrative after the game took a dramatic turn. Emotions flared during the usual postgame handshake line. Lions safety Brian Branch declined to shake hands and instead pushed Chiefs receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, sparking a brawl that spilled onto the field.

Smith-Schuster suffered a bloody nose in the scuffle. While Patrick and the Chiefs took care of business on the field, Brittany kept the Chiefs spirit alive off it.  On Monday morning, she turned to Instagram to share her gratitude for Andrews, who had sent her a care package from her fan apparel line, WEAR by Erin Andrews.

Brittany’s Instagram Story included a video unboxing the red-and-gold gear along with a brief but excited caption: “Thank you @erinandrews @wearbyea.” The timing of the post – just hours after the Chiefs’ primetime victory – made it an instant sensation among fans.  Brittany, who’s gained recognition for her fashionable game-day outfits and expanding social media following, displayed a selection of WEAR’s newest Chiefs items, including a pair of sleek bomber jackets and casual tops.

The post also provided Andrews’ brand with a prominent platform. Launched in 2019, WEAR by Erin Andrews has emerged as one of the most sought-after women’s sports apparel lines in the nation.  The collection seeks to offer fashion-forward, team-branded gear that can be worn “AnyWEAR and EveryWEAR,” merging the boundary between sportswear and everyday fashion.

The brand now represents nearly 200 teams across the NFL, NBA, NCAA, and more. WEAR has established itself as a go-to for many sports enthusiasts, and Brittany has been among its most prominent advocates.  She previously donned a Chiefs jacket from the line during the 2024 season, matching it with her signature red-and-white game-day ensemble.
