King Charles’ ‘cryptic’ announcement post leaves royal fans confused: ‘Abdication’

King Charles has hinted at a major announcement with a very ‘cryptic’ post that has left fans very confused. In a video shared to social media, we see clips of Buckingham Palace with the royal guard playing Bob Marley’s ‘Could You Be Loved’. As the music progresses, we see Charles sit in an ornate chair, with the music switching from the band’s version of the song to Marley’s, with an On Air sign turning on. Text on the screen simply reads, “Coming soon.”
King Charles’ ‘cryptic’ post leads to wild theories
Royal fans were left very confused by the cryptic announcement. Not only did it feel very modern, but it also seems quite out of character for the royals, who are known for being very secretive. It left many thinking Charles and the royal family might be starting their own podcast, with one user writing, “King & Queen On Air – The Real Royal Podcast.”
“The King’s Podcast?” another questioned. “Oh no, he’s starting a podcast isn’t he?” a third said. “Not KC trying to be relevant! I think that ship sailed,” one X user quipped. “A new reality TV show featuring the royals?” someone else questioned. “My heart can’t take all this cryptic post. Spill already!” another begged. “I’m so curious about this,” one royal fan added.

“I don’t know what this is, but I’m all for it,” another said. “Is Wes Anderson at Buckingham Palace?” one person asked, referencing the production value of the video. Others thought it was a hint that Charles was stepping down as King, with one user simply asking, “Abdication?” “Will King Charles III be announcing his resignation?” another questioned. However, some thought the fanfare was simply for his Commonwealth Day speech. “Commonwealth day speech, I’m guessing,” one person said.
