Taylor Swift returns to help Patrick Mahomes as Travis Kelce ‘fights’ for a gift from girlfriend he already had

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce once again proved why fans adore him during a star-studded charity event in Las Vegas.  Attending The Patrick Mahomes 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Vegas Golf Classic on Thursday, Kelce made a memorable cameo during a live auction involving none other than his pop superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

In a now-viral video posted by Instagram user Lauren Door, Kelce was seen standing with Mahomes at their table, holding an auction paddle in hand, bidding on a special collector’s item: a Taylor Swift-signed guitar themed around her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. The item had been personally donated by Swift to benefit the charitable efforts of Mahomes’ foundation.

As the bidding escalated-from $10,000 to $15,000-Kelce appeared to be in the thick of the action, potentially on track to win the prized memorabilia. Mahomes stood nearby, possibly ready to claim the guitar on Kelce’s behalf. But before the hammer dropped, Kelce bowed out with a quip that sent the room into laughter.  “I just realized I have that already,” he joked, sitting back down and withdrawing his bid. The crowd erupted in amusement, and fans online were quick to eat up the moment.

The clip quickly made its way across social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where fans fawned over the playful exchange.  “Aww, his comment is soooo cute!,” one fan wrote, capturing the tone of many reactions.

Another added: “He’s flexing. I’m so jealous of him.”  “‘Oh look at me I’m Travis Kelce and I’m dating Taylor Swift’,” joked one user.  Some speculated Kelce may have been trying to hike up the bidding price for a good cause before backing out. Whether his bid was a genuine attempt or a strategic stunt, the gesture helped shine a light on the night’s fundraising mission and Swift’s contribution to the event.  It also reaffirmed Kelce’s status as the league’s most beloved Swiftie-in-chief-and a master of balancing humor, heart, and star power.
